Let’s get to it! Day 1…

Hello and welcome to my weight loss blog. This is my personal journey toward a happier, healthier, lighter me. It has been a year of ups and downs in my life and on the bathroom scale. After seeing a much heaftier me in front of the camera, I decided it was time to make a change.

I chose to share this very private hurdle because I know I am not the only person who struggles with what to eat, how much to eat and when *not to eat. The goal of this weight loss journey is to show that you can lose weight without expensive diet products, painful surgery or dangerous pills. 

My plan is simple, inexpensive, and geared toward good food. I will  cut my portion size, replace sugary drinks with water, tweak my daily food list, and incorporate exercise into my day. If I can do it, so can you!

I will be sharing menu’s, recipes, diet tips and words of motivation.  I will have guest bloggers who will share their story of success and setbacks. I will post everyday and you will be able to leave a comment (I think ha!).

I’d love for you to jump on board with me! Tell your friends and family-anyone you know who wants to slim down before the weather warms up. Let’s have fun with this!!Weight loss doesn’t have to be boring. Remember-we are all working to achieve an end result-one that will make us feel better and look our best.

    Thank you Elizabeth for sharing your blog. I am 26 years old with 2 kids and I have PCOS. It is very hard for me to lose weight. But I am trying my best. I have already changed my daily eating habits and lost 2 pounds since last Friday. LETS DO THIS GIRL!!!

    You Can and Will do it girl! Thank you for putting your personal journey out there for all to see and read about because that reminds everyone that they are not alone on their weight loss journey! I started my personal weight loss journey on January 1, 2004 with TONS of ups and downs, big losses, big gains, success and failures! And today I am very proud and honored to say I lost a total of 210 pounds and have kept the weight off! No it’s not easy and it didn’t happen over night BUT IT CAN BE DONE and without throwing away mega dollars and wasted efforts. If I can do it anyone can! Always remember …. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle; hardwork, dedication, determination, willpower, and NEVER EVER give up on yourself because you are worth it!!!!

    You can do it!!! My sisters and I have started training for the Cotton Row run in May. We are all 3 overweight and we know that we can and will lose weight. I have seesawed for years. This year I am determined to beat the beast back once and for all. I’ll be following you! Best of luck!

      Im doing the same, i joined the scale back Alabama contest so far going pretty good, its just been 1 week down 3 pounds. We can do it!!!

    I’m starting this new journey myself and I am very excited about it. I’m 28 with 2 kids and still have all the baby weight just no babies in the belly! I lost about 40lbs before I got pregnant with my now 1 year old son and I just did that by watching what I ate and nothing but water. Unfortunately I do have a few health issues that limit my ability to do certain workouts but i’m giving it everything I have, like they say NO PAIN NO GAIN (or weight loss in this situation).

    Hey Elizabeth my name is Sherry I have been on a weight lose diet now since July since then I have lost 32 pounds total I now have come to a stand.still I have cut out cokes and teas drink only water I have watched calorie intake so I would love to follow you and work with you to reach your goal and mine.

    I lost 75 lbs last year. Now I just need to lose about 30 more. I am lacking the motivation to do it, though. I hope your blog will encourage me to not only keep the weight off, but to get down to my goal weight by summer! Good luck to you! It takes determination, but if I can do it, anyone can!

With a history of weight issues & morbid obesity in some family members, I watch every bite I eat, log it, measure it, whatever it takes to keep obesity at bay. Kudos to you for helping us all achieve a healthier lifestyle.

    how can i start to read day 1 to now? I missed it and i noticed you look great on news48.
    I have a hard time to lose weight and foods. Please let me read day 1 to now and follow your plans and foods recipes etc. where i start to read your journey? I am deaf lady.
